I've been searching for inspiration for the mudroom in our house, a space that has stumped me up until this point!
I'm definitely feeling inspired by 70's interiors, especially the bright colors and low "lounging" seating areas. I want the space to feel inviting and to function as an area we can use for less formal entertaining or for relaxing and reading a book.
Love the low casual seating, with lots of pillows! I found this image, as well as some of the others, in an amazing Flickr gallery, 1970s Interior Design and Residential Architecture.
I want the space to feel organic with an area for ever-changing inspiration and artwork. What a great way for displaying prints!
A modular wall unit is a must; we need more space for books. Finding a unit similar to this within my budget will be difficult, but I'm up for the challenge!
Love this yellow chair!
Eero Aarnio's living room in Helsinki. Great low seating.
I've already told Nicholas we are planning a vacation here!
Eventually I'd love to get a free-standing fireplace back there. I can just picture us cuddled up with the girls.
This project is definitely in the beginning stages, but I'm happy that I'm starting to figure it all out. Inspiration is one of the best parts of decorating!
