I heart Bernard Buffet. We have a 70's reproduction of his painting Tete the Clown hanging in our stairway and everyday I look at it and it makes me smile. Which is surprising because honestly, I hate clowns! We got it at Vogue Vintage, which is conveniently (and dangerously) at the end of our street. This is my tactic with that store: go in, look around, come home, and if anything haunts me, go back and buy it!

Buffet was a French Expressionist painter who created over 8,000 paintings during his career. I would love to get another print of one of his works to hang next to my favorite clown, which is actually part of a "clown series." The thought of two clowns is a bit overwhelming, but I do love a number of his works.  The Surugadaira Museum in Japan is dedicated solely to the artist and has collected over 1,000 of his paintings, etchings, lithographs, and sculptures.
