One of my dream finds is a vintage hotel mail box unit, or a vintage card catalog, or both. Ah, compartmentalization. The possibilities of what you can put in them are endless!

I'm also in love with this cubby organizer from Pottery Barn.

Last year, I found a few vintage Penguin Poets books at the ReUse Center in Ann Arbor. Since then I've been on the search for more editions from this series.

I'll be honest with you, I'm not collecting based on the fact that they are poetry editions, I mean poetry is great, but I'm more interested in the covers! Each cover is a different and unique pattern, and I'm in love with them!

I've only had luck finding one more issue at John K. King. So far I have A Book of English Poetry (D5), The Metaphysical Poet (D38), and Contemporary American Poetry (D67).

I love this quote from Penguin founder Allen Lane: "good design is no more expensive than bad." Lane wanted his books to be cheap, and look distinctive. What a smart man!

I've been thinking a lot about lighting lately, after scoring two new amazing light fixtures at the house.

1. My sweetie husband got me this beautiful Roost squirrel lamp for Christmas from Scout in Royal Oak.

2. I found this amazing danish modern lamp at the same store where I purchased my dresser.


3. Plus, I'm still on the hunt for kitchen light fixtures to replace the terrifying lights that came with the house.

One light that I adore is the Nesso Lamp. Designed by Italian designer Giancarlo Mattioli in 1967. I'd love to find a vintage one. Question is orange or white?

My latest Ebay obsession is searching for mid century advertisement posters and vintage travel posters. I love them! I'm searching for the perfect one for our house, most likely for the dining room. I want one with bright colors, a fun image, and graphic bold text.


I also came across this amazing set of posters that were found in an abandoned London train station. Incredible!

My obsession with Scandinavian pottery and kitchenware began with finding this Nymolle cup & saucer set at a thrift store a few years ago. In my excitement to show Nicholas my new find, I chipped the cup while unwrapping it. I was devastated. Then in a weird twist of fate I found the same set a few weeks later at a different thrift store. It was just meant to be.

I would really love some Cathrineholm lotus nesting bowls. Or anything Cathrineholm, really! These mid-century beauties were created by Grete Prytz, who was one of the most influential designers in Scandinavia during the mid-century. They would look just perfect in my kitchen!
